The Kenya Army Commander Lieutenant General Robert Kibochi on 29th September 2017, awarded Cpl Joyciline Jepkosgei a commendation Certificate on her great achievement of breaking the 30.00 Min barrier for the 10 Kilometres race, at the Kenya Army Headquarters.
Cpl Joyciline Jepkosgei made history for the second time this year in Prague, Czech Republic as she became the first woman to break the 30:00 record, 10 Kilometres road race, by running a scintillating time of 29:43 to win the 2017 Birell Prague Grand Prix 10Km. She also set a recognizable record for the 5km race. Her time of 14:32 in the middle of the Birell 10km has never been surpassed by any other woman runner.
In April 2017 at Prague, Cpl Jepkosgei became the first woman to break the record of 65:00 for a half marathon when she ran her best time of 64:52 at the Sportisimo Prague Half Marathon.
Cpl Jepkosgei could not conceal her joy when Lt Gen Kibochi awarded her a commendation certificate for her sterling performance in Prague and a portrait photo of herself.
