Warrant Officer One Hamud Abdalla Said was born on 17 October, 1961 in Kilifi County. He was enlisted into the Kenya Defence Forces as a recruit on 10 September, 1979 and posted to 9 KR after completion of his training, where he was reclassified as Pte on 29 February, 1980.
In his long illustrious career in the Kenya Defence Forces, Warrant Officer One Hamud Abdalla Said distinguished himself as a professional Service Member with proven competence and mastery of the subject matter in his work and many other complex matters he was faced with from day to day. In such occasions, WOI Hamud exhibited strong knowledge of the military dimensions and challenges of working in a busy military environment with ease. He rose through the ranks and held a number of appointments notable ones being RSM 15 KR from 26 Jul 06 and School RSM RTS from 08 May 09. He was posted to 6 Bde and appointed BSM from 19 Jun 15 and later GSM Emb Gar from 31 Oct 18. He was appointed Kenya Army Sergeant Major on 04 April, 2019.
In his career spanning more than three decades, Warrant Officer One Hamud Abdalla Said has attended innumerable Military Courses relevant to the various appointments he has held. Key among them; Cadre Course, Junior NCOs Command Course, Skill at Arms Basic Course, Platoon Seargent Course, Drill and Duties Basic Course, Drill and Duties Advance Course, Warrant Officers and SNCOs Command Course and Instructors Induction Course among others.
In peace keeping operations, he has served in United Nations Mission in Namibia between 1989 and 1990 and later in Burundi (KBT 14) where he was awarded UN Peace Keeping Medal. He also served in AMISOM VI as BSM between 05 Dec 16 and 03 Feb 18. Cumulatively, he has been awarded a total of thirteen medals amongst them are Silver Star (SS) and Distinguish Service Medal (DSM).
In recognition for his distinguished and exemplary service, he was awarded Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (LS & GC) for having served for 16 years without any indiscipline issue. He is happily married to Sharif and are both blessed with five children.
